PHP-triad is an application which installs apache, PHP, mySQL,
phpMYadmin, and everything else needed to run Linux type server
programs in Windows. The EXTREME part of it is that it now contains
some of the most popular forums and CMS portals as well.

I've preinstalled and configured everything.
All you have to do is run the executables in the right order
and paste the specified folders into the proper directories.

All instructions are in the installation folder. Look for the README.text.

LOG INTO EACH OF THESE SITES ASAP AND CHANGE THE DEFAULT USERNAME AND PASSWORD!
(found in the readme.txt in the main folder)

phpMYadmin is a tool used to manage the databases. You should setup a user with proper permissions for any new database connections. By default, all sites now connect as "localhost" with user "root", no password required. For more info, read the supplied DOCS in the phpMYadmin folder of htdocs.
Drupal is a very nice looking addon CMS module to PHPtriad. I've only had brief experience with it but it looks and feels not too bad. It seems to get good reviews so I have included it for you to try out.
Invision Power Board is a state of the art forum with many advanced features. This is version 1.3final. 2.0 is expected to be released very soon and should have even more features. Upgrading should be no problem.
phpBB is another very popular forum software. Not my personal favorite due to some security concens and various bugs but there are many mods and skins available for free. I'd recommend backing up all folders and the database before adding anything though.
PostNuke is an excellent CMS (Content Management System) or, "portal". Again there are many modules and hacks available to make this an extreme website. Do yourself a favor though and back everything up before trying new modules. Not all of them are properly ported from other CMS systems. I haven't included phpNuke simply because I think it' crap! It's built around phpBB and doesn't always operate as advertised.
Shadowed Portal is a lightweight portal system with a basic forum and shoutbox, downloads area, news, etc. You'll need some html and bbcode experience to get really fancy with this but the advantage is that it requires no database to operate. All info is stored in simple text files. A caution though, when switching between skins, I find that the tables are easily broken an do not recover. The installer is included at htdocs and I recommend that you reinstall to a new directory, with a new skin, rather than trying to change the default skin. If the install gives you problems, don't refresh the page, restart the install with a fresh directory.
XMB is a very fast and very configurable forum with some nice features and built in skin choices. The ticker, or "marquee" is a nice touch to keep your visitors informed. This is partagium 1.8. There is a 1.9 beta available but, after testing it, I'd recommend you wait at least until fall 2004 before trying an upgrade.
PHPinfo is a simple php page that will retrieve all info about your environment including paths needed for installation and configuration of new sites and systems.
apache is the driving force behind most webservers. This link points to the default welcome page which I have renamed for security reasons. You'll find more info there on your new apache webserver.
DynDNS is a service which will allow you to have a free subdomain name registered to your static or dynamic IP address. This is essential for security reasons. It's not good practice to advertise your IP number in your wbsite address. Register with them and your IP will be assigned to the domain name of your choice such as: http://mysite.ath.cx or http://mysite.mine.nu
There are many subdomains to choose from and with dynamic IP's, the address will be updated regularly to point visitors to your current IP.
